Just two hour drive from Yangon is Bago, formerly known as Pegu. Bago was the capital of the Mon Kingdom of Lower Myanmar in the 15th century and is one of the most interesting cities in Myanmar.
The sightseeing tour of this town includes the colossal reclining Buddha of Shwethalyaung, the pagoda of Shwemawdaw, the four giant Buddha images at Kyaikpon Pagoda and the old Palace of Kamboza Thadi.
