Ho Chi Minh Museum is located at 1 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Ward 12, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, just across the Ben Nghe Channel and the Sai Gon River. This museum mostly contains pictures and objects relating to President Ho Chi Minh.

The Dragon House Wharf, formerly known as ben cang nha rong in Vietnamese, was built in 1863. It consists of 2-storey building of European architectural style, but the roof made by Orient style. The head horse-shaped, anchor, and two dragons-shaped symbols on the top of the building give the name “Dragon House”.

From this area the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh (later became President Ho Chi Minh) set sail on a French ship named Admiral Latouche Treville in June 1911.

In September 1979, People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City chose the Dragon House Wharf as Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site, then changed it into Ho Chi Minh Museum in Ho Chi Minh City (there is another Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi).

The museum has a collection of 3,000 pictures and 700 artifacts relating to President Ho Chi Minh.

Opening time:

7.30am – 11.30am and 1.30pm – 5.00pm daily except Mondays.
