Ba Na Hills is situated in Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District, about 30km from Da Nang city center. It is hailed as “the green lung” and “valuable gem” of Da Nang City.
Ba Na Hill station was founded in 1919 by French colonists. They had built a resort to be used as a leisure destination for French tourists. Being located above 1500 meters above sea level, it has a spectacular view of the Vietnam East Sea and the surrounding mountains.
Due to the elevation of the resort, the temperature is significantly cooler (10–15 degrees) than the environment near the coast. Each of the four seasons appears within a single day in Ba Na Hills: spring in the morning, summer at noon, autumn in the afternoon and winter at night. One particular characteristic is that the clouds are at the mid-height of the mountain, so the peaks are usually clear.
