Ba Trieu Temple Festival – Thanh Hoa

The Ba Trieu Temple festival is a tribute to Madam Trieu, a national heroine who led a rebellion against the Chinese invaders in the third century. The festival is held on the 20th day of the second lunar month in Hau Loc, Thanh Hoa, northern Vietnam.

There are many temples dedicated to her throughout the country, and in some places, she is worshipped as “Ba Chua Thuong Ngan”, the Lady of the Forest. The festival begins with a procession from Ba Trieu’s Temple to her Tomb and then to the communal house of the local village.
