Nui Coc Lake – Thai Nguyen
Nui Coc Lake is located in the south west region of Thai Nguyen City, approximately 90km from Hanoi. It lies in magnificent landscapes of a mountainous area.
Nui Coc Lake is a reservoir covering a surface-area of 25km2, with a water depth of 23m. The lake is surrounded by mountains and includes 89 islands, concealing mysterious legends.
The lake comprises many islets; some are covered with trees, some with flocks of birds, and others with mountain goats. About 40 species of birds and 15 species of mammals have been recorded in the reservoir area.
Nearby the lake, Coc Mountain stands imposingly amid the blue sky, the bright sunshine over every blade of grass and twig, all creating marvelous and splendid scenery.
Nui Coc Lake is divided into two parts: north of the lake and south of the lake. In the northern part of the lake, there has Buddha statue, entertainment area with Legendary Palace, Three Pine-tree Grotto, Legendary World Grotto, Water Park, Dinosaur Park, guest-houses with reasonable price.
On summer weekends it can get particularly crowded. Visitors can rent a small boat to travel around, contemplate the view of overall Nui Coc Lake, visit Co Island covered with tree, and discover the 200-year old house on Cai Island.
