Vietnam top 5 ancient villages include Duong Lam (Hanoi), Tho Ha (Bac Giang), Phuoc Tich (Thua Thien – Hue), Tuy Loan (Da Nang) and Long Chuyen (Binh Thuy – Can Tho).
Duong Lam village
Duong Lam village is located in Son Tay Town, 40 km to the west of Hanoi. It is a very popular tourist destination at the weekends. The village attracts visitors because of its ancient houses and the architectural features of a typical old Vietnamese village with banyan trees and a wharf on the river.
Tho Ha village
Tho Ha village is situated in Bac Giang Province, about one hour driver from downtown Hanoi. It is one of three oldest and largest centers producing pottery in northern Vietnam. However, the village’s traditional trade is being withered under the modern time’s pressure.
Phuoc Tich village
Phuoc Tich ancient village is situated about 30 kilometers from center of Hue. It is famous for pottery. Now, tourists come to Phuoc Tich in order to contemplate Ruong houses of 500 years old.
Built in 1470 under the reign of King Le Thanh Tong, the village was recognized as a national relic in 2009. This is the second village of Vietnam with the recognition.
Tuy Loan village
Tuy Loan ancient village is situated about 15km southwest of Da Nang city center. It is located in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Phong Commune. The village boasts beautiful scenery and the unique characteristics of a typical Vietnamese rural village.
Long Tuyen village
Long Tuyen is an ancient village in the south of Can Tho City. The village is a destination that attracts many tourists in Vietnam travel not only because of its beautifully natural scenery, but also the cultural relics that remains after hundreds of years.
