Khuoi Nhi Waterfall
Khuoi Nhi Waterfall is located in Thuong Lam commune, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province, about 7h drive from Vietnam’s capital – Hanoi. It’s one of the most secluded waterfalls in Vietnam. The waterfalls are well known for natural “fish massage” therapy.
The waterfall isn’t only an ideal place for you to avoid heat in summer in northern Vietnam, but it’s also a hidden paradise where you can enjoy natural ‘fish massage’ therapy.
Legend has it that Khuoi Nhi waterfall is traced to the story of a young couple who loved each other but couldn’t be together. When they got lost from each other, the lady looked for the young man but couldn’t find him. She was desperate that she turned into a waterfall.
When it is seen from above, the waterfall looks like a young woman’s hair falling on the surface of a calm lake.

How to get there?
To reach the waterfalls, you will need to take a boat from Thuong Lam pier. The boat drops you off at the other side of Na Hang lake, and from there you’ll have to trek 3km from the ship dock to the peak where the waterfalls start.
The hiking trail from the foot of the waterfall to the upper layers is steep and snaky. There are rivulets and puddles on the way, where fishes gather together and eagerly nibble at your feet when you step in the water.
What’s the best time to visit?
The best season to visit Khuoi Nhi waterfalls is between May and June when the lake water is clearer than ever after the heavy rains of summer and the waterfalls run strongly with natural water from the mountain.
